Small communities are the backbone of this great and glorious nation. Their residents contribute the strength and ingenuity that fosters stability and hope for future generations. McLouth, Kansas has long been home to many generational sodbusters and new comers seeking honorable and free, hardworking lifestyles. Life here is complex as a rural community gives way to a commuting bedroom hamlet to the cities. The Patriots Day Parade originated with the purpose of remembering our roots forged in the desire for freedom and the sacrifices made by our ancestors to provide it. The founding members of McLouth's Patriots Day Event continue to commemorate the struggle for freedom of these United States of America with the annual event held on the weekend in April nearest the 18th. The community of McLouth, Kansas joins thousand of Americans who gather to celebrate Patriots Day in honor of the battles and skirmishes that began our Nation's fight for independence. |
